. CROSS-EXAMINED BY THE PRISONER :

I saw you poking the fire about, did not see ine; no one never saw me there at all. linTirngyrniler, a little boy, eleven years of age, deposed that he saw a fire down the Buckinghamroad on the 13th. He went and told Mr. Grace, the baker, who tried to put the fire . he made no reply. He cooyeyed the prisoner to the police station where he searched him. He found the black feathers (produced) in the lining of prisoner’s cost, on the left hand side. Subsequently witness con- veyed him to the Rockingham Police Station where be foetid another feather on the right band side of the jacket, and blood on the front of his trousers, and a spot of blond inside his jacket. Witness noticed while searching prisoner that he emelt very strongly of fire. Prisoner was remanded in custody until Saturday.:
