PETTY CRIME

At Buckingham Divisional Petty Sessions on Saturday, Jesse Thorpe, Steeple Claydon, labourer, was charged with using obscene language there on October 17th. Defendant did not appear. Sergt. Rolls proved service of summons, and said : About 10 p.m. on the 17th of the present month I was on duty at North-end, Steeple Claydon, in company with P.C. Ware. I saw the defendant and acothvr man come from the direction of the Sportsman Inn. They were using very bad language. When Thorpe saw ins and Ware he turned back. I vt.int to him and told him 1 should report him for using obscene language. He remained for forty minutes afterwards using obscene and insulting language. I spoke to him two or three times. —Frederick John White, of Steeple Claydon, was also charged with using obscene language there on October 17. Defendant did not appear. Sergt. Rolls said ; About 10 p.in. on the 17th inst. I was on duty, in company with P.C. Ware, when I saw the defendant coining from the direction of the Sportsman Inn, in company with the last defendant. White was making use of obscene language. I requested him to better language suit go home. lie remained 40 minutes afterwards using obscene, insulting, and threatening language. I had to speak to him two or three times. White was ordered to pay Ga. 6il. with Ss. Bd. costs, sad Thorpe lls. with Ss. costs.
