St MICHEAL’S MOTHERS’ MEETING

Presentation to Mm. Bass— At the end of the winter session of the St Michael’s Mothers’ Meeting, the members expressed regret that the time was long between the end of one session and the beginning the next. Mrs. Bass thereupon offered to arrange for a meeting on the first Monday in each month at the Vicarage should the mothers desire to come. Monday. Juno sth, the first day of the innovation, was unfortunately wet day; nevertheless there was large gathering at the Vicarfe. When the business wa« over, Mrs. James ill rose, and presenting package to Mrs. Bass, said that the mothers had requested her to give this with their love, and they wished to say how much they appreciated all that Mrs. Bass so willingly did for them. The box contained beautiful drawn-linen afternoon teacloth, with the initials “A.8.” worked in the centre. Mrs. Bass was much touched this expression of gratitude and love, and in thanking the mothers said that she always looked upon the Mothers’ Meeting one of the pleasantest parts her work, and was glad that she was able in that way to of use in the parish. She was grateful for the continued kindness and sympathy the mothers. Mrs. Bass then said she should glad see the mothers to tea in the Vicarage garden on July grd, when their gift would be used for the first time. There has been a very good attendance at the meetings, twenty-two being the average for the session 1915-16.
