Vicarage Lane, Steeple Claydon the bride was Miss Joan Kennedy, niece of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Gurney, of 11. Vicarage Lane. Steeple Clay don. The Rev. J. C. Stevenson. L.Th.. The church was filled with friends of both families. The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. F. S. Gurney, was attired in full-skirted dress of lace over taffeta with head-dress of nylon tulle with full-length veil. She was attended by Mrs. Fay Stevens (matron of honour) (sister of the bridegroom). Miss Rosemary Eunice Cross (cousin) and Miss Jose Matthews (friend). They wore dresses of red-flowered silver brocade with redfeathered hats, silver nylon gloves and silver shoes. The bridemaid’s dresses were made bv the bride. The bride’ carried an ivory prayerbook with a spray of red roses and the bridesmaids had bouquets of scarlet carnations. Mr. Alan Hill, the bridegroom’s brother acted as best man and Mr. K. Merry and Mr. T. Whiting were the ushers. The bride’s aunt wore a peacock blue dress with black and white accessories and the bridegroom’s mother was in a pale blue costume with black accessories. Ninety guests attended the reception at the Library Hall, Steeple Claydon. The honeymoon is being spent at Babbacombe in Devon and the bride travelled a mid-night blue fitted coat with pink and navy accessories.
