Fifty years ago Mr. and Mrs. Scar were married by the Rev. Arthur Morgan at a Baptist Church in Northampton. Mr. Sear was born in Steeple Clay don and he met his bride in Northampton to which town left home before the age of 16 to learn the baking and confectionery trade. His bride-to-be was then engaged in one this town’s principal industries, being employed by well-know firm of boot and shoe manufacturers. Hon. Treasurer for the Steeple Claydon Horticultural Society since its inception, he has given valued service to the progress of the local horticultural show. He has in fact been connected in one capacity or another, with the organisation of the majority of social activities and events in the village during his long con ncction with it. acting moreover, for some years past, as Steeple Claydon Corres- Correspondent for the Buckingham Advertiser.
