STEEPLE CLAYDON W.I

Talk on Bucks Lace at the January meeting—one of the fullest and best attended meetings of the Steeple Claydon W I. in recent months—Miss H. Hubbard, of Winslow. gave most interesting talk Buckinghamshire lace. Miss Hubbards tamily has been associated with the lace industry in this county for generations, and it was interesting to hear her bring in the names local towns and villages, and incidents Steeple Claydon itself, in connection with this work she traced its history from earliest beginnings down to the time when it died out. Miss Hubbard illustrated her talk with samples of pillows and bobbins used in lace making and pictures of beautiful lace designs. She was thanked Mrs. Quamton. Although there was nothing in particular to celebrate, this meeting nad quite an air of festivity. The Library Hall was still looking gay witn decorations from previous dance.
