SOCIAL EVENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE STEEPLE CLAYDON ARTS LEAGUE

A company numbering upwards of 180, including adults and children assembled at an enjoyable social held in the Library Hall on Friday in connection with the Steeple Claydon Arts League, at the invitation of Miss Hilda Hubbard. This Club was founded as a memorial to the late Rev. Charles Bass, and it was almost exactly a year since Claydon’s popular Vicar had passed away. The club’s activities embrace folk dancing, needlework, literature, painting, rug-making and other recreational occupations. Feeling reference to the Rev. C. Bass was made at the Social by Miss Hubbard. The programme included piano solos by Dennis) White and Alma Quainton, song by Alma Quainton, violin duets by John Thorpe and Laura Black. There were also games, folk dancing and modem dancing The Arts Club Committee had charge of refreshments.
