William Dodge & Miss Banks

The marriage of William Dodge to Miss Banks takes place to-day (Saturday), and in anticipation of this interesting event, the members of the Steeple Claydon Perpetual Society hare extended to the bridegroom worthy tribute of their regard and congratulations. Mr. William Dodge has held the position of President of the Society ever since its inauguration in 1881. and as a mark of their appreciation of his services, the , members took steps to present him with a little , memento of his connection with the club. This , has taken the form of a subscription an equal sum by each member, with the gratifying result that a handsome full size liquor stand was secured. Three fine cut glass decanters are encased in a massive oak case nicely mounted, and are secured by a strong spring lock. silver plate on the stand has the follow’ng inscription engraved upon it: Presented the members of the Steeple Claydon Perpetual Friendly Society to their President, William Dodge, Esq , on the occasion of his marriage, December 16, 1893. S. Whiting, T. Spencer, G. Spencer, committee ; Wiljiam Hawes, secretary.” The presentation was made on Wednesday evening last, and a large number of the members of the society were present at the headquarters The Old Sportsman,” where ■ the pleasing ceremony took place. Mr. Dodge on his arrival was cordially.
