SAD ACCIDENT

On Tuesday last, Captain Verncy, R.N., eldest son of Sir Harry Verney, M.P. for Buckingham, met with a sad accident whilst out shooting at Steeple Claydon, near Buckingham. By some mischance ■ gun, which had been laid on the ground, went off, and the contents lodged in the foot of Captain Verncy. Dr. Ceelcy, of Aylesbury, and a medical gentleman from St. Bartho- lomew’s Hospital, were sent for, when it was found neces- sary to amputate the foot at the ancle. We are glad to bay Captain Verney is going on well.
