THE MARRIAGE TOOK PLACE OF

Private Harry G Hill & Miss Dorothy Temperance

Military Weddings took place on Boxing; Day, at Steeple Claydon Church of Private Harry George Hill (Royal Artillery), son of Mrs. Hill and the late Mr. George Hill, of Twyford, and of Miss Dorothy Temperance Mary Hawkins, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hawkins, of Vicarage Lane, Steeple Claydon. The bride, who was given away by her father wore an attractive navy morocain dress with hat to match. She wore a spray of dark red carnations. There were bridesmaids and the best man was Mr. Leonard Hill (brother of the bridegroom). The Rev. R. Gladstone Griffith officiated. Miss Alma Quainton was at the organ and the hymn The Voice that breathed o’er Eden was sung. A reception was held at the bride’s home and numerous presents were received. The wedding was of a quiet character owing to the bridegroom’s recent bereavement.
